Job Purpose
To support the Operations Manager/Finance Manager in ensuring efficient
banking operations, sound financial management, and full compliance with Bank
of Ghana directives, ARB Apex Bank guidelines, and other applicable regulatory
frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Oversight
• Support the supervision of branch and agency operations to ensure
efficiency, service quality, and adherence to approved processes.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal operational policies, BoG
guidelines, and ARB Apex Bank operational directives.
• Monitor cash management, vault controls, and teller operations in line
with prudential standards.
• Drive process improvements and digitization initiatives (e.g., mobile
banking, agency banking).
2. Finance & Regulatory Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements in line with applicable standards.
• Support timely and accurate submission of Bank of Ghana statutory
returns and ARB Apex Bank reports
• Participate in budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure proper general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial
controls
• Support capital adequacy monitoring and liquidity management in line
with BoG requirements
3. Risk Management & Compliance
• Support implementation of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management
(ERM) framework
• Ensure compliance with BoG prudential guidelines, AML/CFT
requirements, and internal policies
• Assist in monitoring credit risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk
exposures
• Coordinate internal control activities and support internal/external audits
• Ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and regulatory issues

4. Credit & Portfolio Monitoring
• Support oversight of the loan portfolio to ensure quality and compliance
with credit policies.

• Monitor non-performing loans (NPLs) and support recovery strategies.
• Ensure proper loan documentation, classification, and provisioning in line
with BoG guidelines
5. Leadership & Administration
• Supervise and mentor operations and finance staff
• Act in the absence of the Operations/Finance Manager when required.
• Support Management and the Board with relevant operational and
financial reports.
• Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and customer-centric
service.

Qualifications & Experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related
discipline
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICA (Ghana), or CIMA are a
strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in banking, preferably within a
Community Bank or Microfinance Institution
• At least 3 years in a supervisory/management role
• Strong working knowledge of:
o Bank of Ghana regulatory framework for CBs
o ARB Apex Bank reporting systems
o Banking operations, accounting, and internal controls.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong financial analysis and regulatory reporting skills
• High integrity and ethical standards (critical for BoG “fit and proper”
expectations)
• Good understanding of T24/CB banking systems and Microsoft Office
tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict regulatory deadlines
