Chief Executive Officer

A reputable Bank in the Bono Region is looking for a dynamic, ambitious, performance-driven and results-oriented individual to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Role/ Purpose
The successful applicant shall have the responsibility of delivering the mandate of the Bank and shall have the overall supervision and responsibility for the efficient functioning and growth of the bank.

Responsibilities
1. Drive the business of the Bank to achieve its strategic goals and sustained productivity.
2. Assist with the formulation and ensure the implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for carrying out the activities of the Bank.
3. Co-ordinate the preparation and execution of the Bank’s Strategic Plan and Budgets.
4. Provide leadership and guidance for the Bank through co-ordination of activities of all the Departments and Agencies of the Bank.
5. Prepare and present required procedural papers for the Board of Directors for decision making.
6. Responsible for the operational and financial administration of the Bank.
7. Efficiently manage the human, financial and physical resources of the Bank to achieve the organization’s goals.
8. Promote financial sustainability and resilience of the Bank.
9. Monitor financial performance and manage the Bank’s budget prudently.
10. Strengthen the linkage between the Bank and Regulators (BoG and ARB Apex Bank), as well as other financial institutions and external bodies.
11. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
12. Foster a culture of innovation within the organization.
13. Drive the use of technology to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
14. Explore new products and services to meet the needs of customers.
15. Ensure peaceful and harmonious industrial working environment.
16. Monitor and evaluate the Bank’s activities.
17. Promote team workmanship.
18. Ensure corporate networking for community development.

Qualifications Required & Experience
A minimum of Master’s Degree in Banking, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline from a recognized University plus at least 10 years work experience within the banking industry with five (5) years in Senior Management role.

OR
A professional qualification in ACIB, ICAG, ACCA or any other relevant professional qualification plus a minimum of seven (7) years post-qualification work experience in the banking industry, with at least five (5) years in a key managerial role.

Experience in a Rural and Community Banking fraternity is an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills Required
Knowledge
1. Excellent knowledge of the banking industry, trends and developments including up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory frameworks both local and at the international levels e.g. IFRS.
2. Thorough knowledge of the operations of Rural and Community Banks (RCBs), including the operational risks related to RCBs.
3. Thorough knowledge of local banking legislation, including LI 1825. Must have a good knowledge of the Banks and Specialized Deposit -Taking Institutions Act 2016 (Act 930).
4. Must have a good working knowledge of core banking systems.

Skills
1. Must possess strategic leadership, financial, administrative and managerial skills.
2. Must have strong networking, influencing abilities and Stakeholder Management Communications at all levels, both internally and externally.
3. Must have strategic, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
4. Must have a proven track record of influencing individuals to drive results and strong decision-making skills.
5. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Drive initiative and be business and results -oriented.
7. Proven track record of financial management and regulatory compliance
